We came, We saw, We kicked its ass!

Jeremy had a quick update on using Ubuntu on his new Thinkpad X61. Looks like everything is just about working with the latest Gusty Gibbon release of Ubuntu, including the finger print scanner. I’ve been wanting a Thinkpad for awhile and after seeing Jeremy’s at LinuxWorld a few weeks back and seeing this latest update, I may take a serious look at the X61. The question I would have of course would the battery life. Most PC laptops do very poorly on battery life, with the exception of the Macbooks. Of course IBM claims 10 hours of battery life with the 8 cell battery.
